Apply Now JOBOPENING Title: Public Relations Specialist Location: Sigonella Navy Base, Italy Start Date: 25 September 2023 Job-Type: Full Time Background The Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) 3 conducts research and surveillance to study, monitor, and detect emerging and re-emerging infectious disease threats of military and public-health importance. NAMRU 3 also develops mitigation strategies against these threats in partnership with host nations, international and U.S. agencies in the CENTCOM, EUCOM, and AFRICOM areas of responsibility. Qualifications Education/Degree : Bachelor’s degree in media design, digital media, interactive media or a related field OR a minimum of 2 years of DoD experience Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in multimedia design, graphic design environment Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/JQuery Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator and other Creative Suite applications, Apple Final Cut, or other video editing tools. Proficiency with SharePoint as a platform for web hosting Organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor Able to clear a background check Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to) : Provide recommendations to the Government regarding the development and implementation of comprehensive public affairs campaigns to enhance the general public’s understanding of the agency’s programs. Assist with the tracking and analyzation of input and throughput of the internal information program, media relations, and community relations. This may include tracking number of instances and positive responses received and timing for completion of these processes. Assist with the dissemination of a wide range of information and data concerning the nature and objectives of NAMRU 3 programs, employing all types of media, including radio, television, newspapers, magazines, professional and scientific journals, still and motion pictures, posters, exhibits, social media and advertisements. Assist with the coordination and facilitation of high-level visitors to NAMRU 3 headquarters and provide an overview of current and developing trends in Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) practices and management to NAMRU 3 staff. Assist in improving search engine optimization and general discovery of content by target groups. 3.2.9 Analyze and report on web traffic, analytics, and engagement. Capture and track public sentiment and interests around the industry or product. Perform daily updates of and additions to the organization’s website media/formats. Assist with graphic design tasks. Utilize creative skills to provide media delivery specifically including, but not limited to the following: Support the use of social media-based platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), the development and integration into NAMRU 3 systems by creating infographics and other multimedia presentations, and posting to social media platforms. Make recommendations for program/project improvement. Provide program/project planning support for intramural DoD programs. Provide technology assessment support for intramural DoD programs. Assist with document formatting for publication. Provide recommendations to the Government regarding ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of internal and external relations programs aimed to achieve a greater understanding of NAMRU 3’s mission and programs.
