Retail Marketing Executive, Italy Department: Marketing Department Location: Milan Role Overview: We are seeking an exceptional Retail Marketing Executive, to support in delivering the JD brand’s global marketing vision across the Italian market. To advance the JD brand, maximising awareness and connection to the consumers to deliver strategies and initiatives for the region. This role will support the Sr. Marketing Executive in maximizing the profitability of Retail store estate by positively impacting footfall, Conversion, ATV, UPT and Profit Margin across all store formats through flawlessly executed consumer-relevant, marketing campaigns, promotions and in-store communication (POS). The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and have the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment. It’s crucial that this individual be proactive, curious, data-minded, and actively looking for ways we can impact the consumer journey/experience to help build daily relationships with our brand. The JD Marketing team puts the consumer at the heart of what we do to develop campaigns, content, partnerships, activations & events that elevate the JD brand and maximise consumer impact. Key Responsibilities • Support on delivering the yearly retail calendar for the Italian market, aligned with commercial objectives working closely with the Sr. Marketing Exec. all regional retail plans includes brand campaigns, third party brand campaigns and key cultural/trade opportunities (such as national holiday weekends or back-to-school season); • Monitor and review all marketing promotional activity providing analysis and learnings; • Work in close partnership with third party vendors to ensure all windows/POS production are on time and on budget; • Work closely with your line manager and cross-functionally across Retail Operations, Brand team and Property team, to pro-actively assess any performance issues (such as persistently declining traffic or a particularly slow month) and develop the tactical Retail Marketing solutions that might be needed to address these; • Help in monitoring marketing KPIs, in particular traffic and brand awareness; • Support the team in successfully open new JD stores by ensuring appropriate 360 activation plans are developed, implemented and executed. Store openings should include preparation, launch and sustain phases; • Support in creating weekly/monthly reportings and learning agenda, as well as in depth campaign reporting with clear success measurement and learnings; • Review and refresh the retail activation toolkit to improve and advance consumer impact during key trading moments as well as store openings/events; • Regularly visit key stores and key locations to gather on-field information and assess level of in-store campaign execution; • Share best practices within the market and with the wider EU marketing team and critically assess how activations can be applied/expanded. Key Relationships • Marketing Manager • Senior Marketing Executive – (Line Manager) • Global Marketing team • Buying & Merchandising • Visual Merchandising • Retail Operations • External agencies and vendors • Brand Team. • Third party vendors Skills/Experience/Knowledge Needed: • 2-3 years of Retail Marketing experience within apparel, sportswear or relevant lifestyle brands/retailers • High level verbal and written English and Italian, any other European language is a plus • Creative mindset balanced with a strong analytical skills and ability to advise on planning • Knowledge of the sports & lifestyle and youth culture: particularly interested about • Team player with solid interpersonal, networking and negotiating skills. • Able to manage fast paced environment. • Geographically mobile.
