If you have a passion for technology and Events, read on… Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented, self-directed Event Marketing Manager (Maternity Coverage | Fixed Term Contract) to develop and grow the cloud business in Italy. This is a unique opportunity to make career history within Amazon’s hyper-growth cloud business and play a key role in an exciting, industry leading technology business. We are looking for a team member with both Events management and marketing experience. You will be responsible for developing, executing and measuring highly impactful customer focused events as part of our marketing strategy. The key focus will be on driving AWS hosted and 3rd party events end-to-end, including concept creation, digital setup, demand generation, budgeting and sponsoring, brand design, staffing, onsite support, execution as well as follow up and reporting. You will own AWS Tier-1 (>6,000 attendees) and Tier-2 (>1,000 attendees), AWS one to few (>50 attendees) and 3P Events entirely and you will be involved in all large scoped marketing activities in Italy targeting different audience, persona, vertical with different type of events (e.g., Tech events, Tech workshops, Executive events, etc). This role includes interaction with customers, AWS Partners, Agencies and internal stakeholders. In this role you will contribute to the definition of our Events strategy and goals, you will lead event project management, budget and timeline, and all the activities needed to ensure all stakeholders are working together to deliver a high-standard customer experience. You will also have the chance to utilize your exceptional communication skills to manage leadership reviews and post event debriefs. You will prioritize resources to achieve maximum KPI impact, use a data driven approach to decision making and pull the thread from AWS Events portfolio to field marketing to sales to advocacy. Key job responsibilities Create and execute a comprehensive event plan within the allocated time-frames and with the resources assigned Create high impact event strategies customized to the needs of specific areas to overachieve goals Contribute to the development of the local marketing plan and its execution to ensure regional KPIs are exceeded. Partner with local and EMEA marketing teams, Local Marketing and sales teams, and functional stakeholders to integrate Events into their plan and ensure they drive meaningful impact to KPIs across the sales funnel in Italy Deliver results including clear ROI reporting Identify and set up processes for gathering customer insights to inform marketing direction, in particular, opportunities to drive new customer acquisition ‘Think Big’ to deliver new events ideas, format and creative approaches We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Milan, MI, ITA BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Experience in Event Management (in high-tech is a plus) sales-facing events role such as field marketing, Event manager Experience in managing huge events (>3,000 attendees) and proved experience in creating unique customer event experiences Passion for technology and an entrepreneurial spirit. Exceptional team player Superior oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail in Italian and English PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior leadership across Marketing and Sales. A track record or ‘Earning Trust’. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, technology, or relevant field of study A career trajectory that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility and proven success ‘Delivering Results’. Ability to make data-driven decisions quickly with a ‘Bias for Action’ Deep understanding of and experience managing Events and sales funnels, from lead to revenue. Experience developing and executing marketing strategies to drive a high-growth Proven experience finding creative ways to do more with less and a track record of delivering marketing programs at scale Proven ability to analyze complex market and account dynamics and contribute to the development of the area marketing strategy Skill to use BI tools, Salesforce, Marketo, Go to Webinar and other digital marketing tools Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
