No Offer Description The High-Performance Real-Time Laboratory (Hipert Lab) aims to develop algorithmic and software solutions for high-performance real-time system. HiPeRT Lab’s mission is to predictably exploit the tremendous performance offered by next-generation embedded platforms in application domains where timing and safety requirements are crucial. To this end, the group acquired a strong expertise throughout the whole technological stack, from low-level hardware profiling and characterization, to Real-Time Operating Systems and Hypervisors, to predictable compilers and parallel programming models. The lab is looking for a senior researcher or a post-doctorat to organise and lead the research vision of the collaborators towards the new emergent technologies such as heterogeneous multi-core platforms, and distributed systems in the safety-critical context. The vision of the candidate will shape the future research topic for PhD and master students and help developing the lab on academic research and industrial collaborations. The ideal candidate should have the following knowledge or appeal in researching on: Distributed real-time systems and data communication middleware Real-time scheduling on COTS multi-core heterogeneous systems General timing analyses with WCET analyses, contention analyses, etc Real-time embedded OS deployment and analyses with or without hypervisors AI and vision in the loop algorithms deployment in safety-critical context Control theory for autonomous vehicles targeting complex hardware platforms Requirements PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent. At least two years of experiences as a Postdoc. Additional qualifications It is highly recommended that the candidate already has some experience in managing Master and PhD students. It is also desired that the candidate has some experience in EU project management, grant proposals writing. Assessment Criteria/Ranking The ranking of eligible applicants will be based primarily on research expertise. In filling this position the University aims to appoint the applicant who, following a qualitative holistic assessment of her/his competence and expertise, is judged to have the best potential to carry out the relevant duties and to contribute to the advancement of research at Hipert Lab.
