Full description Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Organization: European Olympic Committees (EOC) Location: Rome, Italy About EOC: The European Olympic Committees (EOC) is a non-profit association that proudly represents the 50 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of Europe. Our vision is to position Europe at the heart of global sport, promoting elite sports and healthy lifestyles across the continent. The EOC’s strategic priorities revolve around supporting our member NOCs and fostering the Olympic values throughout Europe. Job Description: The EOC is seeking a dynamic and experienced CEO to lead our organization. Based in our Rome office, you will head a professional team, working diligently to achieve our strategic priorities and boost partnership and commercial revenue. Reporting directly to the EOC Executive Committee, the CEO will be responsible for the day-to-day management, financial oversight, and operational excellence of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Ensure the EOC adheres to the highest standards of professional management, financial responsibility, and ethical conduct. Oversee all daily operations and business activities to align with the EOC’s strategic mission, ensuring fiscal prudence and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Inspire and lead a professional team to foster employee engagement and cultivate a high-performance team culture. Develop and execute top-tier business strategies and plans that align with both short-term objectives and long-term strategic priorities and EOC’s Strategic Agenda. Cultivate trusted relationships with key partners and stakeholders, serving as a primary point of contact. Maintain a comprehensive risk register and mitigation schedule. Supervise the Sport Director activities in successfully organizing EOC sports events under the guidance of the EOC Bureau and Executive Committee. Collaborate with the EOC EU Office to enhance services to member NOCs and promote the role of sports in Europe. Regularly report on progress against objectives and priorities to the EOC Bureau and EOC Executive Committee, providing updates to the President. Lead the preparation and implementation of draft budgets in collaboration with the Treasurer for approval by the Executive Committee and General Assembly. Collaborate with the Secretary General regarding statutory and constitutional duties. Work with EOC Commissions and ad hoc working groups to advance their contributions to strategic priorities and provide timely reports to the Executive Committee. Ensure that decisions of the Bureau are recorded and implemented. Desired Skills and Experience: Proven experience as a CEO or in a senior managerial role. Track record of developing profitable strategies and implementing visionary plans. Strong grasp of corporate finance principles. Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance, and communications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and public speaking abilities. Experience in sports management and a deep understanding of the Olympic movement. Required Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and ideally other languages, with a preference for Italian. Personal Qualities: Entrepreneurial mindset with exceptional organizational and leadership skills. Strong interpersonal abilities, thriving in social and networking environments. Passion for sports. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours. Place of Work: The CEO will be based at the EOC Head Office in Rome, Italy. Contract: The EOC offers an open-ended Italian employment contract subject to a trial period to be agreed upon.
