Data Science Risk Analytics Consultant
The Data Science & Risk Analytics Consultant role is embedded in the global Risk Consulting team which consists of more than 400 risk experts in 23 countries. AXA XL Risk Consulting is a division of AXA XL that supports our Underwriters in the assessment of the risks AXA XL is insuring and Clients in the identification, evaluation, anticipation, and prevention of their risks.
As Data Science & Risk Analytics Consultant you will be responsible of developing innovative risk modelling offers for clients and underwriters by leveraging the high quality of our engineering expertise and our extensive experience across multiple industry sectors and by developing digital risk modelling tools across multiple risk domains and make these available to our clients on proprietary platforms.
Moreover you will be contributing to the on-boarding of internal resources towards newly developed offers and steering the entry of the new offers in target markets; you will also deliver the service relying when needed on field risk engineers.
More in details the Data Science & Risk Analytics Consultant: identifies relevant internal and external data to sophisticate our risk knowledge, exploits the potential of all new technologies, and either chooses to build everything internally, or partners with start-ups and/or external providers; develops new solutions primarily to answer the needs of clients to better identify, assess, and mitigate their operational risks; identifies new development opportunities, based on his/her skills, client needs, underwriting needs, and evolution of technologies, relying also on wider AXA Group innovation structures when needed.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
· Develop an actuarial and experience based risk modelling platform to assess risks of large portfolios of sites, relying on risk-specific probabilistic models incorporating both risk expert knowledge and data;
· Leverage Natural Language Processing and web scraping technology to identify and assess the third-party risk of client’s business activities.
· Develop digital risk engineering solutions to assess the risks of large portfolio of sites remotely;
· Develop a client risk management maturity model and web-based platform to benchmark businesses versus their peers and identify the risk management improvement opportunities;
· Develop a multi-peril risk assessment approach and platform for small & mid-size companies which can be sold through the distribution network of AXA General Insurance entities;
· Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
· Looking at data across industries, regions, portfolios to determine trends
· Support system configuration, documentation, data interface design, data migration and data reconciliation.
· Develop internal tool and dashboards for risk assessment
You will report to Data Science & Risk Analytics Manager.
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
Required Skills and Abilities:
· Degree and education with quantitative background (e.g. engineering, statistics, computer science,)
· Expertise in statistical tools and programming languages like python, R, SQL, VBA, Java, Power BI, etc.
· Experience in software development.
· Strong analytical problem-solving skills, business mindset, can-do attitude and ability to assimilate complex information
· Good client facing skills and consultant approach
· Project management experience in running client projects while working with cross-functional and/or virtual teams
· Fluency in English and Italian is required. Other languages are considered a plus.
· Flexibility to travel
