We are looking for a Front-End Custom IC Application Engineer Location: Milan Italy or Grenoble France Job Description, Role and Key Responsibilities This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging and complex IC projects, based on both mature and advanced IC technology nodes, with leading Companies in the semiconductor industry. In the Applications Engineering (AE) role you will present and support Cadence EDA solutions with an emphasis on the analog mixed-signal IC design platform and more specifically on the IC design front-end (Spectre platform and Virtuoso platform Analog Design Environment). You will work closely with our customers to understand their IC design challenges and propose and disseminate our recommended solutions. You will work with our R&D, Product Engineering and Product Marketing teams – communicating customer requirements and providing feedback for the product improvements – and with the Sales organization to drive customer success. The Application Engineer role will be (not limited) to lead and drive technical evaluations: from demonstration to technical characterization and evaluation rollout provide technical customer support for our products related to the Front-End part of the Custom IC design platform to track all technical issues, document, prioritize, and effectively manage the customer’s satisfaction visit customers for discovery meetings, technical updates and debug sessions. The AE will be expected to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members to address customer issues and to support technology adoption campaigns. The AE needs to be open to constant personal development and growth to meet the evolving demands of the electronics industry. This role spans a broad range of technologies: must be eager to learn new tools, flows and technologies. Requirement, Experience, Education The position requires a Master degree in micro-electronics Engineering with 4 to 8 years industry experience in analog & mixed-signal IC design , EDA and technical sales support. Candidates with PhD in electronic design engineering are positively considered The candidate should ideally possess expertise in several core areas: Good knowledge of industrial analog designs (mature or advanced nodes) Have a good understanding of Front-End IC design flow Analog/RF and Mixed-Signal simulation with Spice and Mixed Signal simulators Experience with Cadence Virtuoso Schematic, Analog Design Environment, Spectre Experience with Spectre AMS Designer and Xcelium is highly desired Experience with A/MS and RNM modeling techniques is highly desired Linux environment and scripting languages Analog designers, CAD support engineers are potentially good candidates. The candidate must be fluent in Italian English or in French English Some travels will be required: to visit customer offices in France and in Italy and abroad and for training at EU and US Cadence sites.
