Description

The AP Specialist is responsible for processing accounts payable transactions efficiently and accurately, including employee expense reports. Our ideal candidate has an exceptional work ethic and is ready to roll up his/her sleeves. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-growth environment. The AP Specialist will report directly to the Finance Manager of the EMEA region.

Essential Job Functions

  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures including the review and implementation of process and system change.
  • Receive, process and verify accounts payable invoice information in ERP system.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, ACH Transfers and wire transfers while verifying the accuracy of payment details.
  • Perform two-way match (Invoice, PO) in the system to ensure accurate and complete invoice validation.
  • Ensure invoices are recorded and paid on the correct entities’ books.
  • Check accuracy of postings including coding, including VAT, of all invoices and expenses into Oracle for tracking and reporting.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including reconciling accounts payables and producing financial reports.
  • Maintain accounts payable mailboxes and respond to business partners and vendor inquiries timely.
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices within stated credit terms.
  • Maintain organized and easily accessible electronic records of invoices, payments and related documents.
  • Review and process employee expense reimbursement in system, ensure expenses are compliant with company’s reimbursement policy.
  • Prepare support for international compliance and other requests.
  • Prepare support for statutory audit of the financial statements for international entities.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls over financial reporting (SOX404b).
  • Ability to work under pressure and work flexible hours when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years in accounts payable or a similar financial role.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts (e.g. accruals recognition).
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion & Concur is a plus.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of German is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Advanced degree in accounting preferred or equivalent experience.
  • High level of attention to detail, aptitude for managing deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality over all finance and accounting matters and information.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to various levels in the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Must be self-motivated and function independently, driven towards superior effort and performance and the desire to work in a very dynamic environment.
  • Strong commitment to a team approach and awareness of team and individual success dependencies.
