Cloud Systems Solution Engineers are focused on supporting our customers growth in leading-edge, large scale and complex technology infrastructure for Oracle Cloud and on-premises platforms. A Principal Solution Engineer within Cloud Systems provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying technology application to the client’s business. You will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical and functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Focusing on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Advising internal and external clients on overall architected solutions. Leading individual contributor and team member, providing direction and technical consultation to customers, the local Oracle sales account team and partners. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical and business skills in area of specialization. Proven years with vendor (sales and presales) experience is preferred. Proven year’s business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors, demonstrated project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques, presentations and demonstrations with the ability to translate customer business requirements into solutions that leverage Oracle’s Engineered Systems, Cloud at Customer and Server/Storage product portfolio. Experience with Oracle Engineered Systems, Oracle Database or Oracle server/storage products is highly desired to lead the technical sales activities and deliver proof of concepts of above-mentioned solutions and products. Ability to travel as needed. A BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable. The candidate should have the ability to: Design IT cloud platform solutions and drive IT transformation projects Engage with all levels of stakeholders within both Oracle and the customers organizations Define and lead pre-sales initiatives in target accounts and territories Prepare configurations, define system architectures, and solution proposals of hardware infrastructure products and associated infrastructure software Understand the Enterprise IT market within Italy Speak fluent English and Italian Oracle Solution Engineers are excellent communicators, and are able to develop and articulate complex technological issues in a straightforward way to both decision makers and technical personnel alike. The perfect candidate must have drive, be proactive and is self-motivated. Required Skills/Experience What You’ll Bring The ideal candidate should: Be an experienced professional with a successful and proven track record in this domain. Have exposure to and a keen interest in database technologies and data protection Have proven years of hardware products pre-sales experience or working knowledge of installation, support and administration experience in a complex data center and ability to adopt to a sales environment Have knowledge of server and storage technologies market and products in general Be proficient in translating complex business requirements into workable technical solutions Have a track record in developing successful propositions for the provision of transformational projects for mission-critical environments in major organisations. Possess a broad understanding of typical enterprise applications, IT infrastructures, public and on-premises cloud, including but not limited to Oracle technologies Have significant customer facing presentation and interaction experience in consulting and trusted advisor roles with C-level executives in relation to IT services articulating service and technology solutions in terms of business value and risk. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell. As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
