Continuous Improvement Leader/ Operational Excellence Leader (Respiratory Business) – Mallinckrodt DAR/Newco – Mirandola (MO) Careers that Change Lives This position is an exciting and new opportunity to work with Medtronics Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Interventions and/or Medical Care Management Systems businesses. Currently a part of Medtronic, these businesses are being transitioned either into a new stand-alone company (currently referred to as NewCo) or will be merged into the business of another company. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon establishment of NewCo or upon the transition of the business unit to another company, in approximately 12-15 months (if we can designate timing; this was in the public announcement) your employment will transfer to one of these entities and you will no longer be employed by Medtronic. The business will have the same singular focus, financial commitment, deep domain expertise, and global footprint needed to accelerate the development and commercialization of affordable and scalable healthcare technologies. Mallinkrodt Dar production plant in Mirandola, is part of Machined Implantable, Capital and Disposable Operations cluster. We serve our Respiratory Intervention Operating Unit to deliver solutions and products preventing the onset and improving the management of respiratory failure. As Operational Excellence (OpEx) Leader and as a member of the Site leadership team in the Mirandola facility representing Operational Excellence function, you will have responsibility for the planning and execution of process improvement objectives across manufacturing site. You will help drive operations strategy for the Mirandola site and help form the future for this company. You will help set specific operational performance targets as well as the development and training of employees to create a sustainable culture of continuous improvement. A Day in the Life Build and implement the roadmap for the sites to deploy the holistic operational excellence program Capture, govern and facilitate site programmatic savings projects Lead strategic activities and drive cultural strategies. Align with functional leaders to identify training needs and support implementation of training activities. Align with operations function leader and R&D to deconflict projects and determine support priorities for all project and the hopper Play key role as an OpEx Leader by contributing to the overall organizational goals and the OpEx strategy roadmap and execution Assess and provide governance of the scorecards that are quantitative and qualitative assessments of OpEx effectiveness at site Plan, perform and implement process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma) Develop metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities Provide consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control Must Have: Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree required Minimum of 7 years of relevant OpEx, Operations, and/or Manufacturing experience with 5 years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant OpEx, Operations, and/or Manufacturing experience with 5 years of managerial experience. Fluent in Italian and English language Nice to Have Prior Medical Device/Pharma experience is critical Lean Six Sigma Certifications Strong background in holistic operational excellence structures (TPM, BPM, DBS, TPS, etc.) and the associated tools/techniques Strong background in manufacturing/operations leadership role Strategic minded while having the ability to focus on the critical actions Strong principle-centered approach that is able to be balanced on the organization need and starting point Able to build a strategic roadmap that will yield a journey map for deploying the programs and standardization that meets the business needs by prioritization and focused development Strong Portfolio Project Mgt skills Highly influential and able to sell ideas and approaches Strong interpersonal, presentation, and project management skills Solid coaching and mentoring competency Able to influence change without direct authority.
