Data Science Manager

Job Description: Lightcast is hiring a Data Science Manager who is passionate about data science, and will maximise project success with our data, APIs and models. The Data Science Manager will join Global Data Science with the goal to support our customers, deliver insights on the labour market, create new elegant and innovative data solutions to extract new insights from our data. Major Responsibilities: Use research, creativity, and analytics to deliver projects for customers on a consulting basis, and to support innovation within our business Analyses business requirements and identifies solution options autonomously, and is able to discuss the trade-offs between approaches Run project management on data analytics projects (create time frames, risks plan, manages our customers, define deliverables) Define roles, required tasks, and resources, and work with leaders to allocate resources Track, analyse, and regularly report on the project budget Use or develops and fine-tunes models through reproducible experiments Participates in the technical design of data solutions (dashboards, API, ) Explain ML or AI results and limitations to tech and non-technical audiences Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies in data science and AI Successful Candidate: Energetic, self-motivated, and maintains focus on winning outcomes. Able to work independently without constant supervision, yet also willing to learn and be coached – we will mentor, develop, and train you. Able to cooperate with the Global Data Science team, speak with our data scientists and our engineers Able to prioritise tasks with autonomy based on requirements and proper context A passion for machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Excellent project management skills, including managing business customers from scoping through to delivery Fluent English as well as another EU language (Italian, French, German or Spanish) Strong interpersonal skills to develop rapport with colleagues and customers Good skills in Python programming and SQL, ideally with experience of Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse Good skills in dashboarding (Tableau or PowerBI or Qlik) and data visualisation Statistics, machine learning Proficient in project management software tools like JIRA or Asana or similar About Lightcast: Lightcast is a global leader in labor market insights with headquarters in Moscow (ID) and Boston (MA) and offices in the United Kingdom, Europe, and India.
