DevOps Engineer – Sigproc infrastructure

What you’ll do Our team is developing the gateway signal processing software for Viasat’s third-generation satellite internet network. Viasat-3, Viasat’s revolutionary GEO satellite, is unprecedented both in its terabit per second capacity and its flexibility in directing that capacity where it is needed in real time. The spacecraft requires an equally innovative gateway architecture, and we are developing and ultra-high throughput GPU-based modem to that end. We’re responsible for its design, implementation, integration, and test. What you will do is: Understand and analyze user and system requirements as input for the infrastructure and software development. Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers and project stakeholders to deliver products with quality, on time and in line with a defined scope. Deliver maintainable, robust and testable code. Share knowledge and collaborate with other developers and network engineers across the business. Support the production of documentation as needed. The day-to-day Develop tools designed to optimize the cluster performance and security. Mantain cluster health by performining proactive maintenance and monitoring. In case of outages work with other teams to restore service in a quick, efficient way. What you’ll need 2 years of experience in software engineering and development Knowledge of apps deployment and support using containers such as Docker and Kubernetes. Automation skills with Python Technical knowledge of network components (e.g. routers, switches,etc.) and how they operate. Experience in infrastructure automation and scripting using tools such as Ansible Ability to support Dev Ops outside Standard working hours and on weekends if needed What will help you on the job Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study or equivalent experience Familiarity with cloud services and technologies – AWS & Google Cloud Experience designing and developing for continuous integration & delivery environments (CI/CD) Understanding of IPv4/v6 routing and switching, advanced network communication protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, GRE, VxLAN, EVPN, IPSec, VPN, Multicast Knowledge of Juniper, Arista, Cisco, and Fortinet network gear EEO statement Viasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
