Director, Childrenswear Design page is loaded Director, Childrenswear Design Apply locations Milan time type Full time posted on Posted 30 Days Ago job requisition id R_754952 Milan The Director, Childrenswear Design requires the ability lead the Childrenswear Design team that produces, proofs, tests, and troubleshoots effective creative/design assets that adhere to our brand standards and are in line with the Brand Vision. He/she must be highly creative, have a head for business, a flexible attitude, demonstrate strong communication skills, and be on the pulse of the latest global design trends. Job Responsibilities: Research: Give inputs ad guidelines to drive the research for moodboard; Work with design team to develop and expand particular areas of research in more depth; Explore and develop ideas that potentially are out of the macro themes of the collection, which can be nevertheless complementary; Design: Coordinate the kids’ collections in all categories both organizationally and creatively; Rework the women’s/men’s collections to develop the Mini Me; Deliver seasonal designs under leadership and mentorship of SVP Womenswear Design; Design functional and trendy items in line with the needs of our consumers and our brand values; Collaborate with your cross functional partners in Product Management, Development, Materials, Sourcing, and Merchandising to ensure the Company delivers designs that marry back to seasonal briefs in consideration of quality, cost, and aesthetic needs; Coordinate the design team in working with Print department; Coordinate design team making sure time is spent in an efficient way. Development: Work closely with the SVP Womens’ Design to ensure that the designs are on brand for all Kids collections in order to advance the overall business; Lead and oversee design projects from concept to design to launch; Manage the design process, strategy and team to be able to handle the growing volume and creative demands of an evolving brand; Work with the Production team and coordinate design team in order to prepare clear drawings that are easily explained; Work with Production team and technicians on the best way to construct the garment; Collaborate with product management and merchandising to develop line plan and design briefs. Profile: Bachelor’s degree in fashion design or related field; 5 years of Project/People Management Experience; 10 years of Kids’ Design experience; Fluent in Italian and English (both written and verbal); Prior experience working with a luxury brand is a plus; Ability to produce and lead multiple creative members in different categories; Ability to communicate and collaborate successfully with vendors, employees and managers; Management and coordination skills; Strong communication skills, verbal and written and a mindset to inspire; At Capri, we are all responsible for creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
