No Offer Description The National Research Council of Italy (CNR) announces a Call for tenders for the recruitment of Director of the Institute Nanosciences (NANO) Pisa. The research fields of the Nanosciences Institute concern the following main thematic areas: a) synthesis and fabrication of inorganic, organic, and hybrid nanostructures and nano (bio) devices, and their integration into complex functional systems; b) development of both inorganic and organic functional materials; c) experimental and theoretical-computational study of the properties (optical, magnetic, structural and mechanical, transport, etc.) and imaging at the nano scale; d) development of intelligent strategies and architectures, including bio-inspired ones, for nanoelectronics and spintronics, nanomechanics, photonics, bio-medicine and the study of biomolecular processes in vivo, devices and sensors for energy and environment; e) new experimental and theoretical-computational methodologies for nanosciences; f) emerging and future nano (bio) technologies, nanomedicine; g) communication and education in nanosciences. The Director manages research activities of the Institute and fosters the strengthening of its competencies and facilities. He/She is responsible for the results of the activities entrusted to the Institute, in accordance with the planned objectives. Requirements Eligible applicants are people of high qualification and experience and scientific management with no restriction concerning citizenship. Good knowledge of Italian and English is required. Terms of Employment The Director is responsible for the overall operations of the Institute and for the coordination of all activities, in relation with entrusted programs and projects. The Director all duties stated in the bylaw, regulations and general acts of CNR. The Director will have a full-time position with a mandate of four years, beginning from official nomination and can be renamed only once. Emoluments has been approved by Board of Director’s deliberations no. 158 of the 24th May 2022. Submission of Applications Applications can be submitted, within 30 days from the publication of the present Call, only through the on-line form available in the website https://selezionionline.cnr.it and according to the instructions specified therein. Call for tenders has been published on the Recruitment Portal https://www.inpa.gov.it/ in the 26 th September 2023 the expiration date is the 26 th October 2023. Applications will be admitted if submitted before 18:00 CET on the deadline date. The date and hour of submission will be certified by the on-line system, which will no longer permit access for the submission of applications after the deadline. All applicants will receive an automated receipt upon correct submission of the application[1] . Evaluation of candidates Candidatures will be evaluated by a Commission composed by three to five experts, including non-Italians, appointed by the CNR President following a decision of the Executive Board. Evaluation criteria, set by the Commission, will include those assessing the high scientific production, professional and managerial qualifications and experience of applicants, in view of the scientific and organizational needs of the Institute. On this basis, a comparative evaluation of the candidates will be performed and the resulting eligible candidates will be called for an interview by the Commission. After expressing collegial decisions on each evaluation, the work of the Commission will conclude with the presentation to the Executive Board of a shortlist of three eligible candidates for the Institute. Shortlisted applicants must present to the Executive Board, within fifteen days from notification, a document illustrating strategic lines and development policies for the activities of the Institute. After the presentation of such document, the Executive Board will chose the candidate that will be finally appointed for the position.
