The role: Reporting to the Italy Managing Director and South West EHS Regional Director, the ESH Manager is supporting the approach towards an elevated Safety culture, driving the local effort the implement the EHS strategy and is responsible for the good management of the Health, Safety and Environment Integrated Management System, in compliance with current regulations and company policies. He/She is the Company RSPP – Head of the Prevention and Protection Service. Principal Responsibilities: Lead the EHS country (Italy) as per the established Europe EHS strategy: lead the local team to deliver country level established EHS objectives; Develops and promote a culture of safe working through good practice, standards engagement, risk assessment and mitigation and communication; Develop and coach the local teams to foster learning with understanding on EHS systems and processes while providing information, instruction and training at all levels of the organization; Develop, deploy, and review Company’s Environmental, Health & Safety and sustainability operational policies and procedures in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations, & Xylem corporate model programs Lead EHS audits, inspections and positive interventions across all business units and locations within the geography; Lead incident investigations to identify root causes, develop and implement corrective action plans. Ensure sharing of learnings across the greater Xylem business Ensure timely and accurate monthly EHS data reporting; take action in case of deviation to the established EHS goals Support the ISO 18001 and 45001 process (i.e. ensure compliance of all company activities with the ISO standard, guarantee the maintenance of the ISO certification, manage all the Policies and Instructions so that they meet the ISO requirements…) Ensures compliance of all company activities with the ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standard Ensure full compliance with Italian law and Legislative Decree 81/2008 in terms of safety and health Supports in the drafting of all documentation that allows the Company to operate in compliance with current laws and Group directives (DVR, DUVRI, etc.) Additional Responsibilities: Assists in developing and implementing EHS HQ improvement programs and delivering key strategic objectives Assists in the collection of data for the Xylem ESH metrics program via setting goals, driving improvements, tracking and reporting results to the management; Supervises the execution of technical inspections at the authorized workshops In collaboration with the HR Department, he/she will plan and implements all employee safety training and health surveillance as required by Italian law Manages and supervises first aid and firefighting teams Manages the wastes annual communication (MUD) for the headquarters and for local Service Centers Supports the Service Centers in identifying the applicable authorizations (eg. AUA, SCIA fire, etc) and monitors their obtainment Qualifications: RSPP Certified Have a recognized EHS Qualification to Degree level 7 years leading ESH programs or in a similar position Relevant knowledge and understanding of Environmental, Health and Safety Law and its application to the work environment A proven track record and experience in driving a successful cultural change: ability to lead and influence people at all levels Understanding of the ISO management standards and their application in the work environment Knowledge of Legislative Decree 81/2008 and other laws related to the safety and health local legislation Business fluent in Italian and English Soft Skills: Strong people leader with excellent emotional intelligence Continuous improvement mindset (Lean mindset) Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills LOCATION : Lainate TRAVEL REQUIREMENT : 30 – 50% of the time mainly in Italy (possibility to join European meetings) CONTRACT : full time, Permanent BENEFITS : bonus company car Xylem is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
