Forging and Raw Material Buyer

Job Description Summary At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation. As Forging and Raw Material Buyer, within the Avio Aero’s Supply Chain team and directly reporting to the Commodity Leader, you will manage the buying process for a given set of goods. You will apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. In this role, you will have knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others, and you will be aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Manage the sourcing process, from evaluation of requestor’s requirements to PO placement Understand the Materials Commodity needs based on the Commodity Strategy and define SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) matrix in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing team and Technical Expert Support the strategy and robustness definition and execution for the specific set of goods within the Materials Commodity Manage Supplier with the aim to strength relationship with strategic suppliers and create action plan for critical suppliers, in collaboration with strategic team Perform spent analysis for the given set of goods within Materials commodity and with reference to the Operational Plan and Strategy goals (including deflation, costout, days to pay) Apply cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizations Negotiate PO and purchase contracts, following applicable company and government regulations Balance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects Build a strong relationship with GE Aerospace Sourcing Team to collaborate and share opportunities Work in collaboration with Supplier Quality Teams and Procurement team to meet established goal of OTD, span, delinquency and vendor recovery In performing your activities, it will be mandatory for you to maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealings with supply base and internal customers Qualification/Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Chemistry/Material Science or Economic field from an accredited university or college Previous experience in Buying-Procurement or Manufacturing/Quality or Program Management/Sourcing Previous experience in supplier management Proven analytical and problem solving skills, with sound judgment and a diplomatic attitude Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form Ability to handle several activities simultaneously, manage multiple priorities and resolve appropriately Proficient in MS Office (e.g. Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, Word) Highly motivated team member Proactivity, Customer orientation, initiative, autonomy Fluent in Italian and English language Work Visa and Italian citizenship, in accordance with local regulation, is required Desired characteristics Knowledge of current market conditions and sources of supply Knowledge of investment castings processes and tooling management Previous experience in sourcing organization Negotiation skills Positive working attitude and proven understanding of how to be an effective service provider within an organization Effective problem identification and solution skill Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact Professional working knowledge of SAP MRP software system What we offer Smart working and work life-balance Avio Aero, when possible, promotes remote work and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
