In Electrification Business – Smart Power Division, we are looking for a Global Application Specialist in the area of Renewable energy with specific focus on solar, energy storage, hydrogen, sustainable marine and emerging direct current applications. In this role you will design, develop, and validate applications and solutions in above areas leveraging on a customer-in approach. This position reports to Global Industry Segment Manager Your responsibilities Support development of applications, included training, value proposition, communication materials; Support test and validation of applications; Support customers by helping them identify the best solutions for their projects; Ensure adequate customer journey (i.e., application configurator) is in place for the respective application; Support a Customer-In process to capture the customers’ voice; Support digital marketing campaigns related to applications; Define ABB and competitive landscape, monitor market trends in the above applications and recommends adjustments for the long and mid-term strategy; Provide feedbacks to Product management and Digital on new development needs; Participate to international standardization committee; Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business; Your background Bachelor’s degree in engineering and preferably 5 years of experience in the area of solar, energy storage, hydrogen and emerging direct current applications; Technical understanding and willingness to learn and continuously acquire new competences; Experience in electrical systems, ability to read and understand electrical diagrams; Knowledge of Direct Current is considered as an asset; Agile mindset and preferable experience in an agile working context; Excellent communication skills; Proficiency in written and spoken English; Negotiation skills, market knowledge, leadership skills, social skills complete the profile; Design software skills like Simulink, ETAP, EPLAN etc will be considered a plus; Experience with power electronics; AC/DC and DC/DC converters will be considered a plus; Good knowledge about renewable energy market and/or Marine will be considered as a plus; More about us We look forward to receiving your application.
