Based in Milan, within the HQ Purchasing Department, the candidate, reporting directly to the Head of Raw Materials, will have the responsibility to define and implement the commodity sourcing strategy in the related geographical perimeter by acquiring a deep knowledge of raw material market dynamics, of the relevant supply base and of the materials applications within Prysmian. The candidate will negotiate with suppliers defining the appropriate commercial conditions including pricing mechanism; drive, coach and support the international commodity teams to reach the agreed targets; support the countries / factories and cooperate with the headquarter functions (Supply Chain, R&D, Sales, Quality, etc.) The Global commodity leader will: Lead market trend analysis, supplier rationalization and development, supplier risk, performance and compliance monitoring and ongoing supplier management and governance; Lead the supplier selection, qualification, development and overall supplier management, including drafting, managing and terminating contracts; Define and implement the commodity strategy, drive process improvements, optimize sourcing resources that deliver improvements in the operational efficiency and enhance the value of the business; Cooperate and influence stakeholders and peers to implement the commodity strategy. Who we are looking for? We are looking for a Global Commodity Leader – Raw Material with the following skills and motivations: At least 5 years professional experience as a Commodity buyer within multinational companies with a matrix organization A Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or other related Engineering Degrees Knowledge of plastics, metal or chemicals Knowledge of contracts with basic legal skills Excellent use of excel (at pivot level), good ability in data management and analysis Strong negotiation skills Strong time management skills The ability to work in multi-functional and international teams Excellent in building strong relationships at all level of the organization Able to meet strict deadline and work under pressure International mobility Prysmian Group, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills and abilities, who will enhance the quality of service and contribute to the Group’s success.
