Job Description
Junior Engineer
Fugro Italy is looking for a Junior Engineer that performs all office and field related survey assignments as instructed.
The Junior Engineer continues to receive further theoretical and practical training, on- and offshore to broaden experience and develop wider understanding of technical scope of work.
On projects, he receives instructions from the team leader or the assigned person in charge.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Operations
Assist Party Chief / Team Leader with the execution of given work and tasks.
Organize own work in specific cases.
Can complete mobilization and calibration activities as required during a designated project in accordance with the FAL Staff Competency Matrix.
Understands the basic operations and theory behind Surface Positioning and Subsea Positioning or Geophysical Survey (as applicable).
Can complete and carry out projects involving Surface Positioning and Subsea Positioning or Geophysical Survey (as applicable) to the standard as dictated in the FAL Staff Competency Matrix.
Execute given work in accordance with specifications, procedures and work practices during a normal working shift (12 hours).
Execute repairs, maintenance and testing of equipment in use.
Actively participate in implementation of QC procedures in the field environment.
Continue learning and observing all aspects of more advanced operational work and tasks.
Financial
Account for own project and business-related expenditure.
Administration
Assist with maintenance of field survey administration and field filing system in
accordance with work practices.
Ensure time spent on projects is properly accounted for.
Ensure expense accounts are correctly completed and accounted for.
Responsible for timely submission of own work reports for payroll and attendance matters.
QHSSE
Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues.
Specific Additional Duties
Continue participating in in-house and external training courses.
Principal Working Relationships
Work with higher grade field staff to ensure projects are completed to client’s specifications.
Meet with own staff on a regular basis to monitor job progress.
Meet with Survey Manager for selected project debriefs, Staff Development Interviews and if applicable personal Performance Appraisal discussion.
Discuss further training requirements with the FAL Technical Trainer
Meet with QHSSE coordinator for QA discussions, feedback, training.
Education and Experience Requirements
B.Sc. level or Diploma in engineering or survey related education or sufficient related experience.
Relevant experience (minimum 1 year)
Conversant with computer operation and a basic knowledge of application software.
Basic English language (Written and Verbal).
