Purpose

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Sales/Business Professional to join our team in the role of Key Account Manager. You will manage assigned accounts and serving as a strategic partner to food and beverage companies. You will collaborate with local marketing and technical teams to co-develop consumer-preferred solutions, offering a comprehensive range from classical flavors to functional and nutritional ingredients. You will report to the Commercial Director Italy.

Main Responsibilities

  • Business Growth and Account Management:
    • Build Givaudan's business with key accounts in the designated market, ensuring sales volumes and profitability.
    • Assume a leadership role for all Givaudan activities related to designated accounts.

    Customer Relationship Management:

    • Cultivate relationships with main decision-makers within client organizations, positioning Givaudan as the preferred supplier.
    • Develop close relationships with customers' top management on both country and regional levels.

    Adaptation and Deployment of Strategies:

    • Adapt and deploy promotions, capabilities, and new ideas to align with local needs, emphasizing customer value and improving sales.
    • Manage the customer brief pipeline, ensuring the quality and quantity of projects align with sales growth plans.

    Strategic Planning and Forecasting:

    • Communicate, and implement key account strategies and development plans.
    • Provide accurate sales forecasts and budgets for key accounts, employing clear measurement metrics.

    Negotiation and Financial Management:

    • Negotiate pricing agreements and manage credit, pricing, and rebates for key accounts.

    Business Development:

    • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities by presenting customer-relevant value propositions, ensuring sustainable sales growth.

Academic Background

  • At least BA degree in Food Technology, Economy or Marketing / Business Administration with a affinity for the food industry

Professional Experience

  • At least 5 – 10 years of account management in B2B beverages or in food, understanding of account management, strategy and execution including building value propositions

About You:

  • Apply strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting skills to develop account strategies and plans
  • Knowledge of customers and competition
  • Understanding of customer strategy, projects, priorities, launch processes, and how to position Givaudan offerings
  • Experience with profitability goals for key accounts
  • Can complete all account management steps in the brief handling process; understand how to manage scale-ups
  • Can effectively generate new business by identifying unmet customer needs
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key customer decision makers
