Job Summary Within Development & Technology (Research and Development), the Line Engineering department has full responsibility for platform modules: it holds the ownership on technical specification for different packaging lines and leads product life-cycle activities. Within this organisation we are now looking for a Mechanical Designer, who will lead specific and high complex mechanical design activities, as well as develop and document solutions related to Tetra Pak equipment. This position is based in Modena, Italy What you will do In this position your main responsibilities will be to: Define detailed specifications based on received requirements for a product, system and subsystem development activity, according to technical corporate standard processes, methods and legal demands; Research, develop and follow-up technical solutions from the concept to the released component. You will interface with other functions within D&T and understand how the design contributes to the overall performance of the system to meet given specifications at lowest cost and highest commonality; Simulate the kinematic and dynamic behaviours of the designed sub-system to predict the lifetime performance by means of defining concepts and models of the functions; Design and document finalized components according to engineering best practice; Define the right material and manufacturing process to satisfy the required production cost, serviceability, lifetime and legal requirements. Outputs are Cad model, assembly and detail drawings, bill of materials, technical report; Support other activity members before final design released; verification and validation activity, clarify the primary attributes of her/his design; Tutorship and sharing of competence to other engineers; Create time schedules and cost estimations of the assigned activity, for approval. We believe you have Technical Diploma or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering. You are skilled in English and Italian, both written and spoken. Previous experience in the design and verification of mechanical solutions for automatic machinery, knowledge of 3d design tools with a preference for PTC/Creo, Finite Element modelling and simulation, FMEA methodology and Hygienic design best practices will be considered a plus. You can work together with others, exchanging information and supporting colleagues to achieve personal and team goals. You are able to anticipate and understand complex situations and, by reviewing its implications and consequences, to find possible solutions. You enjoy developing new ideas, by challenging the status quo and initiating new and better solution. You have a passion for product quality and delivering robust engineering solutions.
