Network Operations Engineer

The Network Operations Engineer will support customer network design, build and operation for the AvioAero sub business. This role will be responsible for working with Avio Aero Digital Team and shared services IT teams to implement network solutions, providing suggestions for how to enhance operations, strategic development, and implementation of network technologies. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Develop and implement requirements, policies and security systems for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related security and network devices on standard and restricted/classified networks Work with other networking teams, Incident Response team, cyber security team and sustaining & requisition engineers to increase maintenance & diagnostic’s overall security posture and global excellence Serve as point of contact for external and internal customers for issues related to network. This includes but not limited to responding to customer inquiries, providing audit support and troubleshooting various On-Site-Monitor (OSM) connection issues Effectively communicate (i.e. statuses, issues, and escalations) to leadership and other various levels of the organization Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations Qualification/Requirements High School Diploma with proven specific experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Network Engineering, Computer or Information Science, Electrical Engineering or related field Proven experience on network engineering Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences Strong customer focus mindset Fluent in Italian and English Work Visa and Italian citizenship, in accordance with local regulation, is required Desired Characteristics Expert working knowledge on LANs, WANs, routers, firewalls and TCP/IP Working knowledge of IDS/IPS, pen tests and network scanning tools Knowledge of security products such as Active Directory, windows patching, Anti-Virus programs, vulnerability scanning products, authentication methods (SSO, multi-factor, etc.), and authentication protocols CCNA or similar certification IT governance knowledge including, conducting audits, process and standards documentation and implementing change control ITIL certified Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility Organized and self-motivated with an ability to prioritize and manage demanding workload What we offer Smart working and work life-balance Avio Aero, when possible, promotes remote work and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
