A Day in the Life As the Principal Reimbursement Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and executing reimbursement strategies and tactical plans that develop our Neurovascular therapies, grow patient access, increase market share, successfully launch our innovations, support improved profitability, and achieve Medtronic growth targets for the Neurovascular operating unit in Western Europe. • Lead the Health Economics & Reimbursement function for Neurovascular Operating Unit WE, working very closely with each country & region, Marketing & other HQ cross-functional partners to ensure strong strategic direction and tactical execution, • Facilitates/supports country specific adaptation and implementation of reimbursement strategies/tactics. Builds and maintains relationships to country and regional Neurovascular reimbursement teams, as well as the WE Commercial Team and Global Reimbursement Teams, • Creates a cross functional network inside and outside of Medtronic. Gathers the need of reimbursement improvements by actively partnering inside and outside the company; fosters active communication of the emerging issues and opportunities with the internal and external customers; employs imagination and ability to analyse problems in order to propose optimal solutions, • Develops and implements reimbursement strategies and programs to obtain coverage, coding, and payment from payer/providers, • Provides reimbursement-related advice to product development teams, marketing, sales, regulatory, clinical, and business leaders, • Identifies payer opportunities and issues and implements programs to resolve/decrease barriers to entry for the company’s products or therapies, • Works closely with Health Economics and Outcomes Research staff to evaluate the economic impact of the use of therapies/products on payers, including the government, • May create training & deliver education programs to sales force, physicians, home care agencies, case managers, hospital CFO’s, medical directors, billing personnel, & pharmacists in clinics & hospitals. Must Haves • Practical knowledge in leading & managing the execution of processes, projects & tactics within one job area, • Advanced knowledge & skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization, • Senior level of experience within reimbursement area, • Master’s degree in health economics &/or Health Policy, Public Health, Epidemiology, or Engineering /Science, • Extensive knowledge and experience in reimbursement & market access strategy, preferably in a global or European health industry environment, • Strong medical device experience.
