As a R&D Engineer, You will join the R&D center in Vittuone, responsible for several low voltage electrical products (i.e., circuit breakers and related accessories, other DIN Rail devices), in a mixed theoretical / simulation / prototypal / experimental environment; You will support and contribute to the design of new low voltage products and to the maintenance of those currently in production. You will collaborate with other R&D centers within the Product Group (mainly Germany, Spain, China, Switzerland) This position reports to R&D Team Lead Your responsibilities Elaborate models of products and carry out computations using standard and non-standard simulation tools. Define (and possibly execute) a dedicated test plan to validate technical assumptions and simulations. Basing on validated simulation results, propose design modifications to mechanisms, sensors, actuators, etc. Coordinate prototype construction to ensure alignment with project/task timeline; plan and analyze experimental tests, to verify technical solutions and proposed improvements; adjust design as required based on test results. Report results and studies in technical documents. Your background Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics. At least 3 years of experience working as R&D Engineer, previous experience in design of electromechanical and electronic devices is a plus. Basic or higher proficiency in CAD software Catia V5 or Creo (considered a plus). Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink, knowledge of the main PC tools. Mechanical multibody simulations. Good level of English, both written and spoken. Result orientation and personal ownership of tasks, we are looking for a proactive person with good communication skills and teamwork oriented.
