Senior Civil & Structural Designer

Overview / Responsibilities Wood is recruiting a Senior Civil & Structural Designer for the development of projects at different phases (feasibility, FEED, EPC – grass root and revamping) to be carried out in Milan office on permanent basis. Visit to Client, surveys at sites and short assignment may be required. Key activities and Responsibilities: Execution of steel and concrete structures design in accordance with the applicable laws and standards requirements regarding Health, Safety and Environment. These activities shall be performed by means of 3D tools (Tekla, Smart Plant 3D or AVEVA E3D) and 2D tools (Autocad or Microstation) Execution of the assigned design activities in accordance with job requirements and time schedule following the instructions given by the Civil / Structural project leader Set-up of Tekla environment for the projects and validation of the related models Preparation and check of concrete structures and foundations drawings, including reinforcement and bar bending schedules Preparation and check of steel structures drawings, check of workshop drawings Collection of the data necessary for the design from the other disciplines and by means of site surveys where needed Check of the drawings provided by third parties (i.e. vendors, civil contractor, steel fabricator) Coordination of the design activities and support to the working groups located in different locations Guarantee high quality level of the documents and compliance with Project and Company procedures and standards Review and check of the design in 3D engineering environments Check of the feasibility of technical solution with the use of laser scanning Check of the designed quantities Skills / Qualifications Good writing and communication skills Fluent English speaker and writer Fluent in Italian Large experience in steel and concrete design Experience in coordinating international working groups located in different locations Min. 5 years of experience in the position Company Overview Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
