Position Overview Serves as key point of contact with RL’s inbound transportation providers Ensures transportation partners provide timely and accurate shipment status updates to RL systems Runs daily status reports to identify partners performance exceptions and addresses promptly Monitors providers’ compliance to Ralph Lauren SOPs and addresses gaps or escalates to senior leadership team appropriately Works with RL Customs brokers supporting compliant import processes, including transit from ports of entry to the EMEA DC bonded warehouse Works closely with origin operations aligning on service and cost Works with RL Global Transportation Control Tower based in Hong Kong to ensure timely ex-factory departures and matching to mode and service options to meet expected in-DC dates Works with RL Global Transportation Control to coordinate on global bid & procurement processes, inputs & outcomes Provides partners with data quality feedback Coordinates shipment prioritization to support the business, working closely with the Planning and Distribution Center teams to achieve supply-demand optimization Assists Global & EMEA Heads of Transportation with special projects – eg. network optimization studies, service and rate analysis, lead-time improvement initiatives Oversees freight payment processes for EMEA Inbound Transport Develops and retains top talent, focusing on continuous improvement mentality Serves as the key link between internal and external partners fostering and growing relationships Be able to work across multiple geographic regions as needed Experience, Skills & Knowledge Expert knowledge of customs & international transportation in multiple modes Ability to effectively communicate with individuals/groups from varied backgrounds and skill levels Effective verbal and written communication skills Advanced competency in Excel, and other desktop software Ability to work effectively in a team and/or project environment Ability to manage people and delegate to optimise team efficiency and performance Detail and multi-task oriented Maturity to make effective decisions and accept ownership Assertive, self-motivated, strong work ethic Able to work with little supervision/direction Surfaces issues and drives to resolution 5-10 years working in international transportation & customs operations 3-5 years managing a team in international transportation & customs operations University Degree or 3 rd level equivalent, preferably in Logistics Understanding of optimization techniques, routing tools and performance metrics Experience working with international shipping lines and/or air & ocean forwarders J-18808-Ljbffr
