The team you will be a part of The Government Relations team analyzes and evaluates the impact of government policy and regulation on the organization’s activities and objectives. Develops and maintains policies and programs to ensure organizational awareness of government legislation and/or regulatory issues that affect the organization. Ensures that the organization’s interests are represented and protected in legislative proceedings and in the development of market rules and procedures. This role in summary Proactively enable the development and manufacture of products that are compliant with markets around the world and that drive competitive advantage through standards and public policy on product-related regulatory matters. Your responsibilities will include – Advocacy Global Standards Strategy Deployment – Safety CENELEC & IEC & APPLIA EU – to follow the discussion as National Expert for laundry and support if required To actively participate in safety committees for air treatment products for advocacy – Energy CENELEC & IEC & APPLIA EU: – to follow the discussion as National Expert for laundry and support if required To actively participate in performance committees for air treatment products for advocacy – APPLIA IT (Italian Manufacturer Association) To be the company representative and the reference person for laundry and air treatment appliances to follow and participate in the technical discussions To support the product platforms to interpret proposed requirements and to establish the company’s position – Embedment To monitor and communicate the trends and upcoming regulatory requirements within an aligned scope, timely, clearly, and completely Exclusive use of embedment communication process Zero planning and business disruptions due to delays in capturing regulatory changes – Compliance To support compliance council and platform when potential non-compliance issues occur within the related expertise area – Regulatory Planning To verify, contribute, and track periodical category meetings, CBT meetings, and pre-P0 meetings to ensure the correctness of the process for laundry and air treatment products Requirements Ability to influence and drive consensus across regions to converge on solutions that leverage global scale while still delivering on regional needs Technical Skills in Standardization area, engineering thought of reading/understanding/interpreting product legislations and its requirements An open mindset to have technical speech in a professional external environment with competitors 3-5 years experience in at least one of standardization, product standards, regulatory affairs, governmental relations, product safety, and/or performance laboratories in home appliances or similar sector Technical degree in engineering (preferably mechanical or electrical/electronic) English Fluency Ability to Domestic and International travel What we offer [ACTION REQUIRED – DO NOT POST AS IS]Describe the benefits and/or advantages of working in that particular location, such as core benefits, vacation days, home office days, on-site daycare, work environment, etc Connect with us and learn more about Whirlpool Corporation See what it’s like to work at Whirlpool by visiting Whirlpool Careers .
