Cellply is a life science tools company based in Bologna, Italy. We have developed and are launching a next generation analysis platform to transform cell therapy discovery, development and quality control using novel single cell approaches to carry out multi-parametric assays in parallel from the same sets of cells. We are creating the new standard for fast, automated, and multiplexed assays that puts more critical data in the hands of cell therapy researchers in basic science, pharma, release testing and beyond. Our first product is currently with customers in early access, and we are growing quickly and looking for an exceptional new team member to join our R&D and generate new assays and applications. Responsibilities And Duties The Senior Scientist will conceive, plan, design, and conduct advanced studies to support research and development. He/she will provide technical leadership to the organization by investigate and develop new assays and applications, summarize data and analyze results, independently formulate conclusions, and determine future experiments. He/she will act as a lead scientist and will interact/coordinate with other groups and functions to support the research and development of the Cellply platform. He/she will manage and train traineeship and junior scientists. Functions

  • In house development of new assays and applications for cell therapy characterization meaning both designing and performing experimental work
  • Validate assay and applications developed
  • Optimize assay performance and its integration in R&D and Manufacturing workflow
  • Work with the R&D team in scientific paper writing
  • Support the R&D and Product Management team in the preparation of technical documentation, including presentations and application notes
  • Attend congress to disseminate data and case report
  • Propose and collaborate with the Engineers team to implement new methods in the platform developed
  • Work effectively in multidisciplinary team including engineering and computational sciences, addressing diverse scientific and technical questions

Requirements

  • MS or higher, included PhD degree in Immunology, Biotechnology or similar
  • 3+ yrs industry or academic research lab experience post undergraduate in an immunology or cancer biology lab
  • A strong knowledge of immune cell activity and assays
  • Hands-on experience on tissue manipulation and cell/tissue culturing
  • Hands-on experience on in-vitro testing and assays for cell analysis
  • Good-to-excellent knowledge of English language (written and spoken)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
