Senior Software Engineer

MARINI SpA, a leader in the design and manufacturing of asphalt mixing plants, headquartered in Italy with branches in France, China, India, Turkey, and Brazil, is seeking a ” Senior Control Systems Engineer ” reporting directly to the Systems Team Chief Engineer for the Engineering Function enhancement. Tasks: As part of the Control Systems Team, following the specifications coming from the Chief Engineer, develop control software and graphical user interface for paver machines. Contribute to continuous improvement and maintenance of control systems and HMI for our machines. Test, verify and validate software both on the simulator and directly on the machine. Autonomously perform regression tests before the release of software updates to production. Develop software documentation for internal and external use. Write specifications for the development of custom electronic components. Perform the first validation of the new electronic components in order to verify their compliance to the specifications provided to the supplier. Support the Test Team for activities that need changes to the control logic or the calibration of the software of the machine. Support S&S and Production Dept. Collaborate with colleagues from other companies of the group Competencies: Basic principles of Mechanical Design/Machining/Welding/Bending etc. Basic principles of automation / electrics / mobile machines logics Basic principles of Project Planning / Gantt / effort&duration estimation Management of BOM and company processes Knowledge of Product Development Process Experience in machine design according to Machinery Directive & harmonized standards 3D CAD/CAM/PDM systems Estimation of manufacturing costs during Concept phase or feasibility of new projects Must have: 5 years of experience as Software Engineer on off-highway mobile applications. Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming language. Experience with the most common fieldbus protocols used in mobile applications (i.e. CANopen, J1939). Experience with the dynamics of the vehicle and of oligodynamic systems. At least B2 English level. Nice to have: Experience in structured companies. Knowledge of the basis of model-based design.
