Network Infrastructure The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise. The team you will be a part of The Network Planning Tools team is looking for an experienced software engineer with strong technical skills to join a group of experienced software engineers in developing planning tools that support Nokia’s 1830 Photonic Service Switch family of products. Our tools enhance network flexibility and operational automation in a very fast-growing and competitive environment, adding intelligence, automation, and efficiency to optical networking operations. Our sophisticated software applications help network owners plan, design, engineer, optimize, and deploy next-generation, multilayer WDM/OTN/packet optical networks based on the Nokia 1830 Photonic Service Switch equipment family. As part of the team, you will: • Designing, implementing, and integrating software features toward on-time and high-quality release delivery • Working with other software team members, in Italy or abroad, to coordinate development activities, including design and code reviews • Working with system engineers who supply feature requirements to understand and review feature requirements and estimate associated effort • Working with testers to demo and deliver features, and address feature modification requests. and improve feature quality • Communicating status, including schedule and scope concerns, risks, and blocking dependencies Your skills and experience You have : • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant field • Master’s Degree in a relevant field is desirable but not required • At least 5 years of experience in software development C++ on both Windows and Linux platforms Web-based development Configuration Management Tools (GIT)SW Development support systems (JIRA) Software Development Process including planning, developing, deploying, and supporting software solutions Agile Methodology Focus on customer requirements, product performance and quality It would be nice if you also had knowledge about : Optical Networking (WDM/OTN/Packet) Network Management Network Planning GMPLS What we offer Nokia offers flexible and hybrid working schemes, continuous learning opportunities, well-being programs to support you mentally and physically, opportunities to join and get supported by employee resource groups, mentoring programs and highly diverse teams with an inclusive culture where people thrive and are empowered.
