Job Summary Avionics SW engineer, mastering SW design, development, and verification under DO-178C guidelines for use in safety- and mission-critical airborne systems. Department: Research & Development Responsibilities and Duties Design, development, verification, and maintenance of embedded software in C language in ‘bare metal’ environment as well as with Real Time Operating System support Management of the software design life cycle from design to verification Definition and development of test cases for high-level and low-level requirements Creation and management of the documentation relating to the SW Verification process Requirements Management and traceability Generation of the traceability matrix of the requirements from System level requirements to verification test cases SW Verification activities Interacting with possible subcontractors in case of off-load of verification tests execution and review of the generated outputs Analysis and resolution of issues related to the SW integration and HW/SW integration process Participation in the development of digital algorithms and filters in the inertial navigation Writing validation requirements for test SW and SW tools, to be used during the DO-178C design and verification processes Generating and reviewing SW related engineering documentation Managing documentation and SW code in adherence to Configuration Management and Change Control procedures Conducting or participating in design reviews Qualifications and Skills Required Skills Master’s degree in computer science, electronic engineering, or similar disciplines Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing, coding, integrating, verifying, and carefully documenting SW for embedded systems; knowledge of avionic systems is a plus Proven experience in using the C language for embedded platform Basic knowledge of software development life cycle: planning, requirements, design, development, integration, verification Capability of adopting a systematic and structured analysis for software troubleshooting Attitude to adhere to internal SW Requirements, SW Design and SW Coding standards when generating the SW documentation Professional ethics and preparation for collaborative work in multidisciplinary teams Attitude to work in pipeline, taking over the artifacts (documents, code) generated by other members in the working team Attitude to effectively interact with electronics engineers for HW/SW Interface definition Organized and systematic to maintain documentation in appropriate order Strong interpersonal and communications skills Knowledge of English Language, both in writing/reading technical documentation and in speaking/listening during project meeting and design reviews Preferred Skills Experience in the development of embedded software for processing platforms with and without operating system (bare metal) Experience in writing software drivers for various devices and I/O protocols (e.g. Serial, I2C, SPI, …) Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink and LabView Knowledge of model-based approach to software design Familiarity with SoC (System on Chip) Xilinx product family, PowerPC devices and DSPs Benefits and Perks Free lunch meal Coffee bar Additional health insurance J-18808-Ljbffr
