Join our innovating Engineering team In the Engineering GT Technical Tool team, we develop and maintain legacy and commercial software for Gas Turbine design, analysis and simulation. The applications we manage cover a wide range of levels, from system (whole GT, compressor, combustion, turbine) to component detail, engineering fields (Thermodynamics, Rotor-Dynamics, Heat Transfer, Lifing…) and Concurrent Engineering Systems (Simulation Data Management, Central Data Model, Scaling Tools…). We also manage and administrate part of the necessary computing infrastructure (SW) to run efficiently the design and analysis tools on premise and on cloud facilities. Our mission is to develop and maintain the GT Design Tool suite allowing design engineers to work efficiently in a concurrent environment. Partner with the best As Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and programming a small module or a large component and designing a feature, set of features, or whole feature area. As a As Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for: Developing and maintaining GT Technical Tools Working collaboratively with the functional team in the development of tools (collection of requirements, design, development, testing, deployment activities) Ensuring on-time completion of project deliverables and adhere to defined project management plans Ensuring follow proper code management processes Ensuring follow architecture and cyber security best practices Managing architecture and security reviews with Digital Technology Establishing connection with other sw/hw Baker Hughes infrastructure teams (Server Management team, Java Team, Oracle team, network team, etc) Communicating with functional owners and global users to execute on the project Contributing to the development of better processes and work towards developing best practices Driving usage of tools with global users through proactive support, trainings & demos Providing technical leadership to internal people or Vendors during analysis, development, roll-out phases for the assigned project Documenting technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures Providing timely communications on significant issues or developments Fuel your passion To be successful in this role you will: Have a Master’s degree in in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science or similar “STEM” majors (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Have knowledge of programming languages, knowledge of at least two of following coding languages: Python, C, Fortran, Java, C# Have Execution mindset and passion for coding Have Mechanical Engineering knowledge and/or passion Have familiarity with FEM, CFD and simulation 2D/3D CAD is desirable Be able to work under minimal supervision Be able to effectively communicate at all levels with confidence and clarity Able to work well in global teams, including time-zone flexibility Be able to provide oversight and mentoring team members.
