We are looking for an experienced transport manager with strong operational skills and in possession of the certificate of professional capacity for road transport of people. The role focuses on launching our transportation business in a new country and establishing efficient fleet management practices (including training drivers, managing shifts, and vehicles), and scaling these throughout Italy. As the COO, you will take an active role in developing our fleet to execute on the agreed operational goals, running our new business day-to-day. The focus of the role will be on executional excellence as well as problem solving and process improvement. The ideal candidate for this role must have experience in the transportation industry, strong entrepreneurial skills, people management experience and analytical prowess. What you will do ? Drive growth by launching and scaling our business in a new country, lead a team and build out a local fleet. ? Lead the local fleet into a new launch, through leadership and vision for the fleet operations. ? be accountable for setting and achieving business goals and day-to-day operations. ? Lead, empower, and develop drivers and operations teams consisting of recruiting, training and monitoring their activities. ? Continuously optimize the business and model to drive additional value and year on year growth. ? Operate and communicate effectively with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders including drivers, operations, global teams and business partners. Responsabilità: Key Requirements: ? Certificate of professional capacity for the road transport of people (“Attestato di capacità professionale per l’autotrasporto di persone”) Basic Qualifications ? Experience in operations management, within the transportation industry, consulting or a dynamic startup environment. ? Prior experience leading new business endeavors, including launches, expansions, integrations, and partnering with 3rd parties ? Strong Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive and hands-on / get-it-done attitude ? Strong communication and organizational skills ? Strategic and analytical in hitting goals ? Proficiency in both Italian and English is required, Spanish would be a plus Bonus points: ? Experience in leading large teams in resource-intensive environments, managing performance, implementing policies and establishing control mechanisms ? Willingness to scout vehicles deals, garages, negotiate leases, recruit, train and hire drivers and operations team. ? Adaptability and autonomy – you are adept at balancing priorities and projects in a continuously moving environment ? Data driven mentality and sound business judgment – Highly analytical with an eye for process improvement and operations optimization ? Collected and calm under pressure – you have superb organizational and interpersonal skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks, and operate well under pressure and tight timeframes ? Open, curious and eager to learn – you are interested in all things and can build up skills and knowledge fast to become a recognized subject matter expert amongst your peers ?
