The Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team creates software that runs robotic systems for fulfillment and has an immediate impact across Amazon’s order fulfillment network. We work closely with customers to invent new world wide robotic solutions and prove them out. Engineers spend the majority of their time on new product development. Our Software Engineers experiment with disruptive technologies and integrate them within our current software solutions in a collaborative team environment. Each Software Engineer will have an assigned technical mentor to help with on-boarding, 1-1 guidance from their manager and will work closely with other engineers. Key job responsibilities As a Software Engineer, you will: – Work across teams to design and develop systems which orchestrate robotic solutions leveraging on native AWS services (e.g. AWS IoT, Lambda, Dynamo etc.) – Prototype new concepts or features through simulators, emulators and with live robotic equipment – Create hardened, production-ready systems which can be deployed at Amazon scale – Work directly with internal customers and see the impact of your products in the field We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Milan, MI, ITA Basic qualifications · B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, applied math or other algorithmic-centric discipline with strong CS fundamentals. · 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience · Proficient in Java (preferred), C++, C#, or Python · Experience with developing large scale, distributed systems · Strong problem-solving skills · Works well in a fast-moving team environment and is able to effectively drive cross-team solutions having complex dependencies and requirements · Strong verbal and written communication skills.
