IMI CIB – Financial Institutions Debt Origination Specialist

  • Responsible for promoting and being actively involved in the origination of debt/structured finance transactions, with a clear focus on Financial Institutions space (including banks, non-bank financial institutions and asset managers)
  • Assist team Head in debt origination with the development of the business strategy for specific regions, asset classes and/or clients
  • Work closely with relationship teams to identify and pursue appropriate business opportunities in multiple geographies
  • Coordinate and work closely with product teams including, structured finance, syndication and associated cross-selling and revenue enhancement products (Debt Advisory, M&A, DCM, etc.)
  • Involvement in client meetings to present and discuss new business opportunities and follow up
  • Support relationship / product teams in overseeing and supervising credit and execution processes, to ensure an efficient workflow both in terms of origination and execution of transactions
  • Provide with overview/guidance, if required, on the essential aspects to focus on in the due diligence/documentation process
  • Review the credit application/engagement committee papers
  • Liaising and coordinating with all relevant internal stakeholders

Required experience

  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in debt advisory / debt origination / structured finance / coverage, with a clear focus on Financial Institutions

Required qualifications, skills and knowledge

  • Long term exposure to Financial Institutions industry with focus on debt products (unsecured/secured/structured)
  • Experienced gained in advising, originating, structuring and executing debt solutions
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact confidently with both clients and other professionals within the bank
  • Team orientation and demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members and different units of the bank
  • Analytical mind-set, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Proactive, with self-motivation and an ability to work independently, under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills in English and, potentially, additional languages
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
